The author should provide enough data to back up the claims he or she makes in his or her paper. In addition, the authors should provide necessary and useful supporting information that can help readers determine if what the author is saying is plausible.There are many methods in which researchers use references in research papers. Reference lists are used in the more technical, data-rich research papers and usually require a copy of the author's manuscript. In these types of papers, the author should list all the sources they used, including book references, web sites, journals, and other sources that were referenced in the original work. Additionally, the author should list their own references, if any, on the end of the bibliography.It is important for the author to provide sufficient information so that the reader can determine what was discussed in the supporting information , or support quotes. Finally, the author should include appropriate citations to relevant authorities, such as the various books listed in the bibliography, when discussing a specific point of the work. In the case of abstracts, an author should note the reference given in his or her introduction.The purpose of references in research papers is to make it easy for readers to read the text and to understand it properly. References should make the material easy to read and use, while providing valid and useful information.References in research papers that provide substantial supporting information to the thesis are considered valuable. They should support the points made in the article, rather than simply relay the author's point of view.
